The president’s proposed budget for fiscal year (FY) 2023 was released yesterday. FFIS's Jim Martin Table summarizes funding for major grant programs.

  • The table does not include amounts associated with proposals to provide new mandatory funding for several grant programs. These programs are identified by footnotes and will be addressed in a forthcoming Budget Brief that summarizes the major take-aways for state grant programs in the proposed budget.
  • COVID-19-related funding is also excluded.
  • Figures reflect FY 2022 and FY 2023 appropriations included in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), except when those appropriations were made as a lump sum covering several years. The footnotes provide additional detail.  

State estimates for programs in FFIS’s VIP Series will be released in the coming days.
