Additional FY 2022 LIHEAP Funds Released

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released $386 million in fiscal year (FY) 2022 Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) block grant funds. States received an initial release of $3.4 billion in November 2021 and then $100 million in supplemental funds under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) in January 2022. To date, HHS has allocated 99% of available non-supplemental funds; the remainder is being withheld for the secretary’s transfer authority.
