Summary 

The Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that it would provide up to $1.5 billion to states and school districts to help them address school meal supply chain disruptions stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic. Two-thirds of the funding will be available to states in January 2022 in the form of cash payments, with the schedule for the remainder still to be determined.
