 Summary 

Fiscal year (FY) 2024 appropriations for nutrition and agriculture programs were provided in Division B of the first appropriations package signed into law in March (P.L. 118-42). With a few exceptions, mandatory programs get increases, while discretionary programs get cuts.

This brief provides a summary of funding and policy provisions for selected programs as specified in the bill text, the accompanying explanatory statement, and the House and Senate committee reports.
