FY 2024 Enacted Budget: Discretionary Health Programs

The Labor/Health and Human Services (HHS)/Education appropriations bill was enacted into law on March 23 as part of the second appropriations package for fiscal year (FY) 2024. This brief describes funding and policy provisions in the budget affecting health programs. The information in this brief is from legislative text, the accompanying explanatory statement, and the Senate report it references. The House did not release a committee report.

This brief focuses primarily on discretionary programs, including some that also receive mandatory funding.
