 Summary 

The fiscal year (FY) 2024 federal budget process concluded with enactment of a second omnibus appropriations bill in late March (P.L. 118-47). The package of six appropriations bills included the Department of Education (ED). This brief highlights education provisions in the bill, the accompanying explanatory statement, and relevant provisions in the Senate committee report. The House did not release a committee report.
