FY 2023 Enacted Budget: Interior, Forest Service, National Endowments

Fiscal year (FY) 2023 appropriations for Interior-Environment were signed into law as part of an omnibus appropriations bill (P.L. 117-328). This brief summarizes funding and other provisions in the bill, the explanatory statement, and the House report it references related to the Department of the Interior (DOI) and the Department of Agriculture’s (USDA’s) Forest Service, which is funded through the Interior-Environment portion of the bill. It also includes the National Endowments for the Arts and Humanities. Of note, this brief highlights relevant funding in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).

The omnibus included several divisions separate from annual appropriations that provide disaster relief funding, authorize and reauthorize grant programs, and more. This brief highlights relevant provisions in Divisions N, CC, and DD.
