FY 2021 Enacted Appropriations: Agriculture and Nutrition

Final fiscal year (FY) 2021 appropriations for the Department of Agriculture (USDA) were signed into law on December 27, 2020. They were included as part of a large package that also included supplemental COVID-19 funding and a host of other provisions (P.L. 116-260).

This brief summarizes funding and policy provisions in the bill and the explanatory statement related to agriculture and nutrition programs of interest to states. The explanatory statement notes that unless specified otherwise, provisions in the House report should be complied with. Of note, this brief does not include broadband funding within USDA, which will be summarized in a forthcoming brief dedicated to broadband. Figures listed in the tables do not include supplemental appropriations provided in response to the COVID-19 pandemic (see Budget Brief 20-25).
