Congress Moves $8.3 Billion Coronavirus Bill
Congress will send to the president an $8.3 billion supplemental spending package for coronavirus preparedness and response (H.R. 6074). The major components are shown below. The bill designates $1.05 billion for grants to state and local governments and allows funds to be used to reimburse state and local costs already incurred. If the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has reprogrammed or transferred any funds to support response efforts, the bill requires that those funds be transferred back to the original accounts.
