Based on the most recent Fiscal Survey of the States, the condition of state budgets is stable. More states are doing well than are struggling, and there isn’t any particular state, region or industry that appears at risk of collapse. That said, there also isn’t much evidence of a widespread boom outside of those few natural resource-dependent states that have dominated the headlines in recent years.
