The Index of State Economic Momentum ranks states based on their most recent performance in three key measures of economic vitality: personal income growth, employment growth, and population growth. Historically, Reports updates the index each quarter; however, the December 2025 update was delayed by a government shutdown last fall that postponed the release of the data used in its compilation.
