The House and Senate have passed a bipartisan appropriations package (H.R. 6938) that combines three appropriations bills: Commerce-Justice-Science; Energy-Water Development, and Interior-Environment. The package awaits the president’s signature.
This brief highlights funding and related provisions in the Interior-Environment bill, including those in the accompanying joint explanatory statement (JES). It covers the following departments/agencies:
- Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
- Department of the Interior (DOI)
- Department of Agriculture’s (USDA’s) Forest Service
Of note, the JES states that unless specified otherwise, language in the House and Senate reports carry the same weight as language in the JES.
