Summary
The VIP Series focuses on federal grant-in-aid programs in the FFIS database that are most important to states. This edition provides state estimates based on the president’s proposed budget for fiscal year (FY) 2021, with estimated state allocations often a function of prior-year shares. It also updates many allocations for FY 2020 and some for FY 2019.
Transportation programs are excluded from this edition because the president’s budget does not include a proposal to reauthorize the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act, which expires at the end of FY 2020. According to the budget, a reauthorization proposal will be forthcoming.
