Summary
The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) released $37 million in fiscal year (FY) 2020 Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) block grant funds. With the announcement, ACF has allocated 100% of funds included in the FY 2020 budget.
In addition, ACF released initial LIHEAP guidance on COVID-19, and the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act appropriated an additional $900 million for the block grant. These funds have not yet been awarded.
