States Take Advantage of New Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Matching Funds

/ 26-04

The Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) program was reauthorized through fiscal year (FY) 2027 in the Jackie Walorski Maternal and Child Home Visiting Reauthorization Act of 2022 (part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2023; P.L. 117-328). This bipartisan law increased federal funding, created new matching incentives, and has led to substantially higher federal and state support for home visiting.

This Issue Brief summarizes FY 2024 and FY 2025 awards released by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), highlighting states that are taking advantage of the new matching incentives. It also provides an update on the FY 2026 award process.
