 Summary 

Congress provided nearly $3 billion in fiscal year (FY) 2021 to address the opioid crisis. Funding is widespread, but primarily concentrated in the departments of Health and Human Services (HHS) and Justice (DOJ). This Issue Brief provides an overview of grants, including funds awarded to each state. It is accompanied by a spreadsheet that provides state awards for each program for FYs 2016-2021.
