May 23, 2019
Summary

On May 3, the Employment and Training Administration (ETA) announced the availability of $73 million in fiscal year (FY) 2018 grants to states for Registered Apprenticeship Programs (RAPs). Previous RAP grants were awarded competitively; the current round is being allocated by formula. States must apply by June 3; ETA plans to award these funds during June.

This Issue Brief provides background on RAP, summarizes the transition from competitive to formula funding, and reports the state-level allocations announced by ETA.
